A warm welcome to all Wessex scooters' friends and customers, this is our exciting new website for 2019 which should be much easier to navigate and find top quality parts for your vintage Vespa or Lambretta!

Since starting in 2016 Wessex scooters has grown in scope and more importantly reputation, we have built dozens of engines and scooters and supplied hard to find original and new parts all over the world.

We have also had numerous magazine articles and features, for example:

https://scooterlab.uk/vcb-two-channels-dash-bollag-vespa-feature/

Issue 9 of ScooterNova contains a Wideframe tuning guide written by us and international scooter playboy and photographer Paul Hart:

We have expanded into premises located between Newbury and Reading (Berkshire) - the kettle is always on for anyone who would like to visit, it's best to give us a ring or drop us a message first just to be sure that we will be around, it's just the two of us so we may be out picking up scooters etc.

So what does 2019 hold for Wessex scooters? Well we are building up a Pinasco 160 Nordkapp reed valve engine for our Douglas 92L2 demonstrator, this is likely to be the first one built in the UK and brings the power into the 15HP range which is enough to give a standard 200cc scooter a run for it's money so we're excited to finish this!

Our GS150 demonstrator is in progress, the engine has been built with a long-stroke (60mm) crank made by the German masters "KingWelle" - the cylinder head has been changed to the Nagy "Veloce" type for even more power and the engine also has the sensible upgrades like Pinasco Flytech 12v ignition, Pinasco Power clutch and the body will have some trick parts, tubeless wheels, SIP speedo and hopefully an EGT gauge

We're aiming for both scooters to be ready and ridden to the IOW rally at the end of August, fingers crossed!

We work closely with top Italian tuning house Pinasco and Wideframe tuning expert Andreas Nagy:

There are some exciting Wideframe Vespa tuning parts on the horizon from Pinasco including for the first time new engine casings!! Watch this space!

We are also pleased to be able to offer Pinasco Lambretta products, we will have more info on these as an when they are available.

There's so much exciting stuff to share but I must save some of it for the next blog post!

We are here for all your Douglas Vespa and vintage Lambretta needs, get in touch if you need any work or parts and here's to a happy and exciting 2019!!

All the best from Roger and Neil here at Wessex scooters,

(The scooter in the photo is a Douglas 92L2 which we completed for a customer, he picked it up on Xmas eve so a wonderful gift to have on Xmas day)
